NASHVILLE – June 9, 2016 – Country music superstar and seven-time GRAMMY® winner Carrie Underwood owned the night at the “2016 CMT Music Awards” last night, winning “Female Video of the Year” and “CMT Performance of the Year” for “Smoke Break,” her 22nd #1 hit. The wins brought Underwood’s grand total to 15, surpassing her own record for the most wins in the show’s history.
Underwood delivered a stunning performance of her current smash single, “Church Bells.” Starting off stripped-down with its signature banjo riff, the song swelled with a powerful gospel choir from Cathedral of Praise Church in Nashville, backing up her incredible vocals.
