I guess I'm a late comer to the fandom of Carrie Underwood. I had never even heard her sing except on AI and since I am not a fan of country music {I am more of a fan of Jazz and Rock} I had zero interest in her music.
That was until my gf decided to pop in Carnival Ride on our drive to the beach last month. When those first notes - with a definite country flavor - hit my ears I gave my gf my best “you’ve got to be kidding me” look in hopes she would give me a “gotcha” and put on some “real” music. No such luck. I had to “endure” Carnival Ride all the way to the beach.
But there’s no doubt she has a great voice, and I was quite impressed with her. The fact some of those songs kept on popping into my brain for the next week or so convinced me to go out and buy the CD. And explore country music in general. Brad Paisley for example – Carrie links to him on her YouTube site – is pretty good as well. If somebody had told me 3 months ago that I would be exploring {and enjoying} country music I would have said you were insane. Who knew.
In any case I bought Carnival Ride at Target and it has a bonus DVD with Carrie singing So Small, Get Out of Town, Just A Dream, and The More Boys I Meet live {studio sessions not in concert}
There is also an interview {about 15 minutes total} interspersed between the songs where Carrie talks about the background of some of the songs, putting the album together, and the songwriting process in general. I am sure most of you know this but for those that do not it is a must have for any Carrie Underwood fan.

Nova Scotia Loves Care bear Underwood!!!!
NSCarrieFan, my GF says Target does not ship internationally. I just checked and they do not. {she does enjoy it so much when she is right, especially when we bet on it. Now I owe her a dinner}
If you really, really want the DVD just let me know and I'll buy one and ship it to you, though the cost of shipping will triple the cost of the DVD. You're probably looking at $30-35 US total.
Depending on where you live in Canada it might be cheaper to cross the border and get it yourself.
NSCarrieFan, the only other footage of Carrie on the DVD was shot during a 3 day get together at the Ryman auditorium with the songwriters & musicians as they wrote the CD. If I remember correctly she is dressed in sweats {but still looks great} and carrying her dog with her in most of the shots.
I would suggest you go to Target.com and buy the CD/DVD online.
yeah I've always ♥ country music, but Carrie is my fav!!!!!!

Oh thats really funny! I really became a fan when I was on vacation and went to Shopko to waste time lol. I had heard of Carrie before and liked her music, and I just bought her CD for the heck of it, and I knew I at least would like one song on the CD which was Jesus Take the Wheel, but I fell in love with the whole album and ever since it has made me a HUGE fan of Carrie and country music! lol...Its weird how that stuff happens!
