name of a song Carrie sang on American Idol

Hello,

EArly in the American Idol season, I remember she sang a ballad with words
like "could have been something beautiful"
but I've never been able to find the name of the song.
Does anybody know ??

I found the title on a lyrics website. I never saw the performance so I can't be sure.
