(August 19, 2008 - New York, NY) More than a dozen of the world’s most accomplished female recording artists – a cast that includes Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes, and Carrie Underwood – have joined together for “Just Stand Up,” an unprecedented charity single in support of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a new initiative to raise philanthropic dollars for accelerating ground-breaking cancer research.
“Just Stand Up” was conceived by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group, after a powerful and inspiring meeting with the women who organized the Stand Up To Cancer campaign (whom Reid affectionately dubbed the “magnificent seven”). The song was produced by L.A. and Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds. “Just Stand Up” will be released to radio and will be available to purchase exclusively on the iTunes Store starting September 2nd.
“Just Stand Up” is all about the singers and the composers banding together behind SU2C’s mission: rallying the public around the goal of ending cancer’s reign as a leading cause of death. The all-star television perform ance premiere of the song will take place live on Friday, September 5th (8pm EDT and PDT), when ABC, CBS, and NBC simultaneously devote one hour of commercial-free prime time to this nation wide event. This will be the first simultaneous cross-network broadcast ever to raise funds for the fight against a disease.

Concert Review from Puyallup Washington:
I've been a fan for a long time--still am; however, Carrie's concert last night was awful. What a disappointment! She looked tired, sounded tired, had trouble getting the crowd involved, and wore an ugly outfit. To top it off, she barely sang an hour AND COULDN'T EVEN GIVE US AN ENCORE! I've been to hundreds of concerts and this was a first with no encore. A lot of people came a long way and paid a lot of money for the joke of a concert. I actually would like my money back. I've heard rumors the fame is going to your head, Carrie, now I've seen it with my own eyes.
Remember one thing - your fans made you and they can also stop buying your CD's and going to your concerts.
As far as I'm concerned - don't come back to Puyallup
Denver, Colorado Concert
When I picked up her CD and sit down to listen to it I thought she was the best I had ever heard. However, when I seen her live I was lifted higher then I ever thought possible. She is an Angel of Mercy. Ms. Underwood Thank you for being you

Hey
Hey, I watched 'Just Stand Up To Cancer" last night and it made me cry because I lost my grandfather 3 years ago to skin cancer.

"Just A Dream" - Beautiful, but sad, song.
Carrie: This is a beautifully performed song. I only pray that you really never had to go through something like this in your life. I picked you to win "Idol" right from the first audition. Glad you continue to prove that you deserved winning...you're the best. As a 52 year old Dad with kids myself, thanks for portraying an image of puriety AND living it as well. God Bless You.
This is wonderful!
My Mom has Breast Cancer.... She is getting treatment! Its Working! YAY!

IN MEMORY OF UNCLE BEAUREN, Esophogus cancer victim.
Uncle B, we all miss you. We miss hanging out at the "log cabin" with you. We miss you helping us move. We miss your Engineers mind and gentle heart. We miss you doting on Patty and that enduring marriage you had with the school teacher. We miss the Husband and Wife canoeing team.
(Can't blame you for that, girls ARE much prettier in a canoe.) If I can find me a good women to marry, her and I will canoe together.
We miss watching the deer wander up to the back of your home. Your silly directions to visiting relatives. Your crooked smile, your distinctive voice, and the love you had for starting family reunions.
We miss knowing you'd take the back roads and the fishing pole in the Blazer and probobly pitch a tent along the way.
We miss a lot of things about you.
Esophogus Cancer took you away too soon.
When I reach my goals and earn and grow the money.
I will be able to give-back and contribute more to Cancer research.
We all still love and think about you.
Sincerely,
