Thanks to Carrie for hosting such a great event. I had no idea what to expect and came away pleased with her performance as while as graciousnees. So many wonderful prizes were given out but we all won a signed poster and a t-shirt so thanks again to Carrie and her staff!!

Okay, I agree with some of these people that are voicing their ,"Carrie rocked her ,Last Name performance!" Her vocals were incredible, and her outfit..., c'mon people! She's a performer, her song was about Vegas and Elvis!!! Can anyone remember some of the outrageous wardrobes he garnished on stage? Hers was totally appropriate for that performance. In addition to that, she looked FABULOUS in it! I too, watched AI that night for her and her alone! The actual winner was not important to me. Also, how about George Michael singing his, "Praying For Time" which Carrie sang on Idol Gives Back? I think her version was TEN times better!! Some people just have to stir up trouble...

First let me say that Carrie, you looked STUNNING on the AI Finale last week!!! I've been reading some of the negative comments fans have made on here about the song and what you were wearing. I have a couple of specific things to say about that:

1. Let's remember people...it is a song! What makes an artist good is that they can pull off a song believably. She rocks that song and it is one of my favorites because it's so different for her. I would invite everyone of the nay-sayers to go back and listen to Reba McIntyre's song "Fancy". Reba has always been Country music's sweetheart. That song is about a poor girl who's mother pushes her into prostitution to get her out of poverty. That was one of Reba's biggest hits and it's a great song! She wasn't promoting child prostitution. No artist asks to be everyone's role model. They can't please everyone all of the time and they're entitled to take risks with their talent. This was not a risk...it is a home run single!!

2. Regarding your outfit on the AI finale, Carrie, you worked it out!!! I felt exactly the opposite of some of the comments on here. I am a woman and I don't think there was anything trashy about what you were wearing, how you performed or the song itself. In fact, I was texting back and forth with a friend about it, saying I thought your outfit was beatiful and you looked fantastic! NOTHING was seen under the short dress...nothing...and I had it on my dvr and played it back several times! If anyone is a real fan, what they would have seen was a beautiful young woman, looking grown up, classy and putting on an amazing performance. I would like to comment that from the moment I saw your audition for Idol, I had you picked to win the entire thing and from that time until now, you have grown into an amazingly confident performer that really connects with the audience. That is what everyone should take away from it. You earned what you have attained and I think you are incredible and only getting better!

Carrie, we need to get Fort Lauderdale on your tour schedule!! We love you down here and you would SELL OUT!! Keep taking risks!

Continued success!!

I can't believe it! Josh Turner is my FAVORITE male country singer and Carrie is my FAVORITE female country singer! And I always, ALWAYS wanted them to sing together!!

This preformance was amazing...and the outfit was SO cute!
Way to go,Carrie!((=

I LOVE CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!! SHE'S THE BEST AMERICAN IDOL AND THE BEST COUNTRY FEMALE ARTIST!!! i don't think that she deserves all the bad comments just because of her song "Last Name" and her clothing on AI 2008 Finale. Here's what I think. Behind every song made, there is a story to be told and shared to all (young, old...). I think that Carrie's "Last Name" single has it's own story wherein we all could learn something from it. I also think she looked classy (and still sexy) on AI 7 Finale. SHE ROCKED THE NIGHT!!!

LET'S JUST CONTINUE TO SUPPORT CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!! ALL SHE'S DOING ARE FOR US, HER FANS!!! God bless Carrie! God bless us all! Sticking out tongue

Carries the best!!! I love all her songs.

The only reason I watched the season finale was to see Carrie's performance of Last Name. I don't watch American Idol, but I wanted to watch Carrie. I thought Carrie looked very elegant with her hair in bangs and tied up at the back and her performance was excellent. Although I don't like the new sound of her voice in Last Name and Flat On The Floor, it's not a bad voice, and I guess a little variety is okay. Her voice sounds twangy or whiny, making her sound raunchy. I hope I've described that right.

Carrie is such a cool and beautiful singer. I love so many of her songs, especially singles. However, i must say that Last Name is not exactly one i would automatically like but it's growing on me. Firstly, i feel that so many people need to have another view regarding the song and its lyrics. If Last Name encourages drinking and all, will the word "poison" be used in the beginning of the song? That does not seem like a very glamorous word for alcohol right? Next, to let one song affect your impression of her is too unfair don't you think? What about the many other nice songs in Carnival Ride? I'm sure all of us can be a little forgiving and continue to lend her our support!

Wow Carrie Underwood has been my favorite artist since she auditioned for American Idol. All her songs had a good message and she was a good role model for teens. After hearing her song Last Name I was shocked that she would sing something like that. Yeah country music does sometimes talk about alcohol and hooking up but I NEVER thought that Carrie would. Not only that but her outfit on American Idol last night was way to revealing. Carrie is very beautiful and does not need to wear clothes that everyone can see up (yes last night on AI you could) or down. I really hope her innocent and down to earth look and feel doesn't continue to go downhill. We all hope the best for Carrie but are dissapointed.

Good Job! Regardless of what anyone else says you are a wonderful singer and you are very pretty no matter what you wear!!!Smiling I think you still seem like the girl that was on American Idol a few years back! Don't ever forget where you came from!!! Keep the great songs and performances coming!!!!Smiling:)

I wished she had worn something like she wore in her video. I still like the song. I did have problems with the video since it did not show the consequenes of drinking but the song does. That is why I said the video and song did not mesh well together. I hope the reason it was that way is because she did not have a lot of time to make it since she was on tour.

Also, Carrie is a C/W singer and not Miley Cyrus. C/W music have many themes some I like and some I do not. I do not like music that promotes drinking or cheating on one's spouse. So far Carrie has not sung a song with either one of these themes.

Carrie has two good men to help guide her: Randy Travis and Vince Gil both very honarable men.

Still a fan

AWESOME CARRIE!!

You continue to be classy, wonderful, talented and such a great role model for young girls. Success has not changed you. You are still the wonderful girl that auditioned for American Idol. The difference is you are able to give us wonderful shows each time we see you in concert and on tv.

Keep up the great music.

You are the BEST AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!!!!!

Let me start out by saying I don't like Last Name either. I would have much preferred I Told You So or Just a Dream to have been released, but folks to condemn a singer for one song is ludicrous. She has graced our homes with several wonderful songs prior to this.

I believe you missed the point of the lyrics. Instead of condemning Carrie, use the lyrics as I believe they were intended. Tell your daughters to LISTEN CLOSELY and see what can happen when you drink!! See how one evening of so called fun can potentially ruin a lifetime. Why not thank Carrie for singing about the pitfalls that can happen instead of accusing her personally of leaving her morals behind.

As for her outfit...it was just her legs!! I'm not sure what you were watching but I sure did not see any real cleavage. If you didn't like seeing her legs, use THAT as a talking point to your daughters (even sons)

Carrie, you are the role model I want for my children and grandchildren. Class and talent all roled up in one!

Pretty amazing performance on AI - that's country music for you - singing about Jesus one minute and having a good time in Vegas the next - great song - it's getting near #1 on the country charts - Carnival Ride is a great album as is Some Hearts - I thought the band sounded terrific tonight too!

Carrie Underwood has great music and her lyrics aren't even bad. Those people who are saying that she looks like a slut, my god, you people are in the 21st century, let the girl be what she likes to look like, i bet you ppl that are complaining are probably ugly as hell and are just jealous that she's better looking than you are. The media has WAY more s*** that's worse. i dont care if i seem like im trying to teach you how to teach your kids, but those parents who ban a kid from songs that include the words alcohol and drunk are the worse parents out there. Get a goddamn life and let your kids live for once; keeping your kids prude till they're 30 just tells you you people don't have any social life what so ever and you want your kids to end up the same. Carrie Underwood~ your beautiful and just stick to whatever fits your flow. Great song.

Carrie,

You are one of the most AMAZING singers that I have EVER listened to. I have loved you ever since American Idol and I have loved all your music! You are such a AMAZING singer, one of the best in the business. And just because of what clothing you wear or what you sing doesnt mean anything. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! DONT EVER CHANGE!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

YOUR BIGGEST FAN IN DENVER!!!!!!

PS. LOVED YOUR SHOW AT THE PEPSI CENTER. CAN I SAY A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!!!!!!

Just one more incredible performance for Miss Carrie Underwood!! You are absolutely amazing..........

You are an absolutely beautiful girl with an incredible voice--a gift from God. You have *everything* going for you, so you don't have to dress so revealing or sing garbage in order to be successful. The girl we cheered on and voted for during AI seemed like an All-American girl next door. This vixen tough girl is not the Carrie Underwood we thought we knew and loved. Please stop compromising with your clothing and lyrics. It would be so nice for young girls to have a modest, moral role model. I thought you might be it; However, I'm disappointed. And, I'm sure your parents are too. Walk tall, girl. Stand above the pressure of the industry. It's not worth it.

You did a great job - best of the night. I think some listeners missed the point of the song "Last Name". To me it was a warning to young women. "Before He Cheats" was telling young women not to take anything off a guy. I have a daughter and have warned her that if a guy is not nice to her then dump him.

I'm so glad your performing Last Name! I love that song! Oh, and congrats on being the newest Opry Member!!! Eye-wink
