The Global Citizen Festival aims to celebrate the achievements made toward ending extreme poverty by 2030, and provide world leaders with a clear and compelling mandate to accelerate progress on the issues of vaccines, education and sanitation. The Global Citizen movement focuses on those living in extreme poverty – defined as living on less than $1.25 a day for shelter, food, health care etc. This is a free ticketed event and anyone who gets involved online can earn tickets at www.globalcitizenfestival.com by completing online "actions” related to the three key issues. Since the Festival’s inception in 2012, actions taken by concertgoers have resulted in $1.3 billion dollars in new funding and 35 commitments from world leaders that directly benefit the world’s poor.
