NASHVILLE, TN, April 11, 2016 – Country superstar Carrie Underwood stacks up the country radio adds this week with “Church Bells,” the third release from her critically-acclaimed Gold-certified album Storyteller. The new single, produced by Mark Bright and written by Zach Crowell, Brett James, and Hillary Lindsey, officially impacts country radio today as the week’s most-added new single at Mediabase and tallies 114 stations on board across the Billboard and Country Aircheck reporting panels.
The prime time television debut of “Church Bells” took place recently when the seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner performed it on the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 3 on CBS Television. Underwood’s new single was preceded by the #1 singles “Smoke Break” and “Heartbeat,” which brings Carrie’s #1 singles total to 23, 13 of which she co-wrote.
Announced earlier today, Carrie Underwood received two 2016 Billboard Music Awards nominations for “Top Country Artist” and “Top Country Album” for Storyteller, her fifth studio album. Underwood is the only female in both categories. The awards show, hosted by Ludacris and Ciara, will air live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on ABC on May 22.
