Lesly Tyson, VP, National Promotion, Arista Nashville, and her entire promotion team are proud to announce that San Antonio’s KJ97 is the winning country station in the Private World Premiere of Carrie’s “Blown Away” music video national contest. The prize package for KJ97 includes a “red carpet” event for their listeners which will be attended by Underwood and the video clip’s award-winning director, Randee St. Nicholas. Among the hundreds of country radio stations that participated, KJ97 had the largest amount of listeners who voted for their station to win this event.

“Be it raising tons of money for the Kids of St. Jude or helping to bring the biggest stars to KJ Country, our listeners have ALWAYS been up to the challenge,” enthuses Travis Moon, Program Director, KAJA, San Antonio. “I am so proud to work at KJ97, a radio station with such active and passionate listeners. This is THEIR event!”

“Blown Away,” the second single release from Carrie’s 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville new album of the same title, was written by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins. Kear and Tompkins co-penned her smash hit, “Before He Cheats,” which held the country radio No. 1 for five consecutive weeks and was certified Triple Platinum by the R.I.A.A. for sales in excess of 3 million downloads.

PD Moon adds, “‘Blown Away” is such a dynamic and powerful song that throws the spotlight on KJ97 every time we play it. It’s one of Carrie’s best performances and one of the best songs of the year!”

Upon its release on May 1, the album of the same name, Blown Away, made history by debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart making Carrie only the second country artist in the 47-year history of the chart to have each of their first four albums debut at No. 1. Blown Away also debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart making Carrie only the second country artist in history to have three consecutive albums debut at No. 1. Blown Away became country’s best-selling digital album debut since 2010. “Good Girl,” her first single from Blown Away, achieved the #1 slot on both Billboard and Country Aircheck’s country airplay charts.

Since releasing Some Hearts in 2005, Carrie has sold more than 15 million albums with Some Hearts, 2007’s Carnival Ride, and 2009’s Play On making her the best selling American Idol in the U.S. She’s accumulated 15 No. 1 singles, seven of which she co-wrote, and became the first country artist in history and the only American Idol winner ever to achieve 10 No. 1 singles from their first two albums. She is a five-time Grammy winner, a two-time Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, a three-time Country Music Association and ACM Female Vocalist winner, and a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry.
